OUT OF DARKNESS

This group of 20 paintings reflects a personal journey after the loss of my wife. As I began to work through myriad emotions, art helped to overcome emptiness. Initially, I used my artistic expression as a means of escape. As time passed, I discovered a broader range of positive qualities and convictions had emerged. The use of minimalistic patterns of color, design and texture in these paintings became a conduit for healing.  Each work reflects a particular emotion or sensibility that has become a stabilizing factor in my life. It is my hope that you can derive some of these same qualities as you view these works. Each of us is on an individual path, from emptiness, despair or loss. These negative experiences can bring us to a higher place where we can emerge strong and triumphant. Each painting in this collection is titled with one of the attributes.
