As a lifelong artist and educator, I believe abstract art can speak across language, background, and belief. My work begins in movement—spontaneous, gestural—and develops through layers of color, rhythm, and texture. These 12 paintings are conversations without words. They do not prescribe a message; they invite reflection. Each one is an environment meant to hold the viewer—to allow emotion, memory, and meaning to surface on their terms.
My creative practice is rooted in imperfection and impermanence. Influenced by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, I embrace the accidental and the incomplete. I find beauty in erosion, in fragments, in quiet chaos. This visual openness reflects a core value: that everyone deserves a place within the art experience. No single identity is elevated, no single narrative dominates. Instead, these works create space—for introspection, for connection, for diversity in thought and perception.
My years teaching at East Central College and my background in ceramics, painting, and design have taught me how art builds bridges. My large-scale acrylic paintings now focus on nonverbal harmony, engaging the viewer through scale and emotion.
